2015 Animal Blessing at Olivet

What a wonderful time was had at this year's Blessing of the Animals!  Due to the weather, the event was held inside the Olivet Chapel, and we had animals and owners in almost every pew, even the first pew!

 Thanks to all who helped make this Blessing happen:
  • Rita Botting, Barbara Gay &  Rev'd Jeanie Martinez-Jantz who planned and prepped for the service and reception
  • Lindsey Smith who assisted Rev'd Jeanie during the service
  • Libby Wiebel for the beautiful music that brought joy and a sweet calm inside the Chapel
  • Hometown Veterinary for supplying cat and dog treats
  • The Olivet Sunday School for baking special dog biscuits
  • Pete Chaplin for taking great pictures (see link below)
  • And to all who attended, despite the cold, dreary weather!
Over $100 was collected for Animal Allies, a local pet rescue organization.

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
