A Message from Koinonia

May 10, 2020

Dear faith partners-

Fairfax County is doing a “Stuff the Bus” style Food Drive to Benefit local nonprofits, including Koinonia. Koinonia will be receiving donations from two locations as indicated below**, and we’d love your help in getting the word out to your families! As you know, the need for food is greatly increased, and we could really use the additional food to support the families in our community. A list of most needed items can be found here. More info below:

On Saturday, May 16 and Tuesday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fastran buses will be parked in 21 locations throughout Fairfax County to collect food donations. However, unlike past years, the buses will not be parked in grocery store parking lots. Instead, buses will be parked in less-frequented lots, including all Board of Supervisors’ offices and the Fairfax County Government Center, to allow donors to comply with social distancing recommendations. For more information visit the Stuff the Bus webpage.

Donate Today!

For those who are unable to donate in person but want to contribute, visit Volunteer Fairfax’s Donation Page to connect with and donate to nonprofits serving our community. If you want to donate to Koinonia, please visit their website and donate via the red donate button in the upper right corner of the homepage.

Food Collected at these two locations on 5/16 and 5/19 will be given to Koinonia:

  • West Springfield Governmental Center 6140 Rolling Road Springfield, VA 22152
  • Mott Community Center 12111 Braddock Road Fairfax, VA 22030

Thank you all so much for your support.
