Volunteer Opportunities: Rising Hope & Thanksgiving Baskets

9/4/2020 – 11/26/2020

Rising Hope Shelter continues to serve individuals who are experiencing homelessness. The number of needs has increased during this pandemic.

Rising Hope is in great need of hygiene bags to distribute. We collected donations last winter/spring but still need more. The goal is to pack 40 bags.

We invite you to pack your own bag using the list below, donate specific items, and/or help pack the bags at a date/time TBD. Bag packing will be done in Olivet's undercroft with a maximum of 4 people wearing masks and social distancing.

Please contact Ann Caulkins, acaulkins75@gmail.com, with any questions or to volunteer.

1-gallon zip lock bag contents - items with * especially needed:

  • toothpaste (travel size, enough for 40 bags)

We plan to participate in Koinonia's Thanksgiving food basket project again this year. Once Koinonia has decided how to fulfill that project, we will let everyone know.

Olivet/COTS would like to fill 7 baskets. We will set up socially safe drop off or pick up points, and then get the donations to Koinonia.
